Editor's Introduction

         "'The Art Attack Group Show' is The Better Drink's first group art show, and it is my hope not to be the last. All of the art and artists in this show have shown in Heather Somershein's gallery Art Attack. Heather is not only the owner and currator but is also an artist herself. Check out Summer 2005 in the past issues section if you would like to see Heather's solo show in our magazine. Included is also an interview, photo, and boigraphy of the gallery's owner. In the interview I did with Heather regarding her art and our subsequent meetings, I have come to find a person who is both passionate and authoritative regarding art and the business of art. She is both warm and creative--shrewd and business aware. The gallery itself is coming upon its one year anniversary and currently stands in Somerville, MA. It is bright and vibriant inside as the gallery is full of both fine art and crafts ranging from jewelry to furniture. The show was primarily put together by Heather with me looking on with only the occasional opposition. When discussing what the group show should entail, both of us felt it should not only be a collection of great art but also a collection that best shows the tone and range of the gallery. With this I believe the show is a great success: for the art is truly lovely, and I must say that a virtual stroll through The Better Drink's gallery gives you a keen idea as to what a real stroll through her's is like. Not only do I implore you to sit back, relax and enjoy the art show I heartily encourage you to check out Art Attack and enjoy the great art and crafts Heather Somershein has to offer. Finally, I would like to warmly thank Heather for all of her assistance and generosity and also to all of the artists from Art Attack that were willing to share their beautiful work with the readers of The Better Drink.
